Dessert First Is A Sweet FeastDoes your mouth water at the thought of Girl Scout Cookies? If Thin Mints, Do-si-dos and Samoas are your weakness, imagine those tasty treats baked into a delicious dessert. Imagine indulging your sweet tooth as local chefs create scrumptious desserts using those popular cookies as a main ingredient. Join the Girl Scouts of West Central Florida for the fourth annual Dessert First Dinner and Auction Friday, November 16, at 6:30 p.m. at the Embassy Suites Hotel - Tampa Downtown Convention Center, 513 S. Florida Ave. Guests will sample all of the delightful dessert creations along with cocktails before dinner while bidding in a silent auction featuring antiques, jewelry, gift certificates, and gift baskets to fit every budget. Then they'll enjoy an elegant dinner and a live auction featuring fantastic items such as a ride on the Outback Blimp (complete with dinner at Outback), a stay in a beautiful North Carolina mountain home, a vacation in Vermont, tickets to sporting events, and dining packages at area restaurants. The 2006 Dessert First Dinner and Auction drew 225 people and raised $40,500 for Girl Scouting in the Tampa Bay area. Tickets are $150 per person. A number of sponsorship levels are also available, including Corporate Underwriter ($5,000), Gold Table Sponsor ($2,500), Silver Sponsor ($1,500), and Bronze Sponsor ($750).
