
Caladesi DAR Celebrates 33rd AnniversaryMembers of Caladesi Chapter, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) recently celebrated the chapters' 33rd anniversary of its founding with a luncheon at the Clearwater Country Club. Fifty members attended including five past Regents and the current Regent, Rose Warren. Barry Bohnet, representing the National Armed Services and Law Enforcement Memorial Museum in Dunedin, spoke on "The Early Fur Trade in America," and displayed many interesting artifacts from the colonial period of time. Members of the Caladesi Chapter help people with tracing their lineage at the Dunedin Public Library every Thursday, 1 - 3 pm. No appointment is necessary. The next meeting of the chapter will be on Monday, November 19, at 12:30 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church, 455 Scotland Street in Dunedin. The speaker will be DAR member, Carole Coffman and her subject will be "Jamestown." Any woman 18 years or older who can prove lineal descent from a patriot of the American Revolution is eligible to join and is invited to attend the meeting. Call 787-2491.
