Be a Part of Pinellas Hope

Are you looking for a meaningful way to reach out to those less fortunate? Would you like to introduce a project that will make a real difference to neighbors in the community? Perhaps you are looking for a project for a youth group that will provide an invaluable life lesson while showing the joy of giving to others.

Pinellas Hope organizers invite members of the public to help bring an immediate reduction in homelessness and be a part of the permanent solution. The Pinellas Hope community needs help providing meals to the hundreds of homeless residents expected to take temporary refuge at the emergency shelter being set up on 126th Avenue North, near 49th Street.

Groups can prepare a meal and then sit with the guests of Pinellas Hope, to offer the simple pleasure of conversation, and to get to know them one-on-one as real people. The emergency shelter is expected to open Dec. 1 and remain open through April 30.

By going to the website for Pinellas Hope, groups and individuals can find out more about the project, and can sign up to provide a meal or contribute towards one. The website offers a selection of ways people can help, in ways both large and small.
