Decking the Biltmore's Halls

Photos/text by Renee Burrell

Visit the Belleview Biltmore over the holidays and see what the Friends of the Biltmore accomplished in 10 hours. Someone suggested to Rae Claire Johnson (far right) that next weekend the group raises a barn in one day.

Friends of the Belleview Biltmore preservation group invited all to help them trim trees and deck the halls of Belleair's White Queen of the Gulf, the Belleview Biltmore Resort, Sunday. Starting at 9 a.m. and going past 6 p.m., volunteers worked tirelessly to spruce up the 110- year-old Victorian hotel with thousands of ornaments, miles of garland and wonderfully decorated trees. To show appreciation for their efforts, the hotel management treated the volunteers to doughnuts and coffee and an Italian buffet lunch.

The Belleview Biltmore is located at 25 Belleview Blvd.

Area young people showed they dig the 110-year-old Biltmore by showing up to help with decorating. Here Julie Planas (16) of Tarpon Springs hangs ornaments on the tree in the hotel's Candle Light Room.
