Large Bronze Statue Stolen from Largo Central Park
The Largo Police Department is investigating the theft of a large, bronze statue that was stolen from Largo Central Park, 323 Central Park Drive, over the weekend. The theft occurred between Friday, November 16, and Sunday, November 18, at 10:21 a.m. Stolen was a cast bronze statue which depicts two children raising an American flag atop a rock hill. The statue weighs approximately 400 pounds. It is 6 feet high, 5 feet wide and 3.5 feet deep. The value of the bronze statue is approximately $3,300. The statue had been near the military court of honor within Central Park. It had been anchored to concrete prior to its theft. At this time neither a suspect(s) or motive has been determined. As the statue is rather large, there is hope that someone has knowledge of its whereabouts or who took it. Anyone with information should contact Detective Paul Amodeo at Largo Police Department.
