
Festival of Trees Set to Light Up Tampa BayWhen the UPARC Foundation brings the Festival of Trees to the Harborview Center this weekend, the staff and volunteers hope to help those attending enjoy a renewed sense of childhood wonder for the holidays. The Festival, which benefits the Upper Pinellas Association for Retarded Citizens, promises something for everyone. Admission is: Adults - $8, adults 62 and older - $6, children 3-16 - $4, children 2 and younger - free. Friday Night Extravaganza, Nov. 23 - Wendy and the Soulshakers will help ring in the holidays with a blues beat from 7 - 9 p.m. A cash bar will be available. Santa's Village - Children will be invited to make their own holiday crafts and will have the opportunity to give their holiday wishes to Santa in person. Bill Cadzow Photography will be available for families to purchase their photographs. Breakfast with Santa - For the price of a $10 ticket, children and their parents will be able to share breakfast with Santa and Mrs. Claus from 9 - 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 24. Afterwards, Santa will lead the children on a march through the festival hall to his headquarters in Santa's Village. Raffles - Items for this year's raffles include children's gift packages and packages for "bigger kids." The drawing will be held on Sunday and winners do not have to be present to win. A complete schedule of musicians, dancers and other talented entertainers will be featured. The festival's Sugar Plum Shoppe features handcrafted items to satisfy the most difficult person. In addition, many vendors can be found on the winding lanes among the trees for even more opportunities for gift buying. The Finn Gallery will display artwork by this year's features festival artist, P. Buckley Moss. A limited-edition print of the festival signature art, "Purrfectly Trimmed," will be released at the Festival and will be available for purchase.
