City Of Largo Holiday Parade - On December 1st, the city of Largo will host its annual Holiday Parade on Bay Drive.

The popular Largo event will begin at 4:30 p.m. with a later 6 p.m. Holiday Stroll at Largo Central Park.

Hurricane Season To End - Citizens of Florida are pleased to see another hurricane season come to an end. This is the second year in a row that Florida has escaped the wrath of a tropical hurricane hitting the mainland. Perhaps the only people happier than citizens of Florida are stockholders of insurance companies who underwrite expensive homeowner policies in Florida. Hundreds of millions of homeowner insurance premium dollars just sitting in invested "reserve" accounts for future claim liabilities. Yes, they are happy stockholders.

Reinsurers too.

Large insurance companies that insure smaller insurance companies, commonly referred to as "reinsurance companies," are also reaping the financial bounty of another uuneventful hurricane season.

And, of course, Florida's own Citizens Insurance Company (state-owned) has also banked (invested) plenty of reserves that were allocated for 2006 and 2007, but not needed.

Yes, another successful hurricane season, but little or no premium rate relief. In fact, large insurers still refuse to underwrite homeowner insurance in Florida - - too much risk, they say.

If this current trend continues in Florida's homeowner insurance market, Citizens Insurance could become the most dominant insurer of real property, personal and commercial. That means we taxpayers could be liable for ultimate financial losses of Citizens Insurance Company, if any financial catastrophe hit Citizens due to hurricanes, etc.

Looking For A Holiday Movie? - Here's a movie suggestion that is "G" rated: Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium stars Dustin Hoffman, Natalie Portman, Jason Baleman and Zach Mills.

Have I seen it? Yes, with the grandchildren.

More Changes At The BCS Poll - Gone is Kansas and Missouri is the new top-rated college football team in America. It seems that the top two college football teams can't win when it counts. The latest BCS ranking shows Missouri and West Virginia as the number 1 and number 2 football teams in Division I NCAA football.

Will it last?

With Missouri playing Oklahoma in the Big 12 playoff championship game, there is a chance Oklahoma could end-up beating to-ranked Missouri twice in one season. A win locks-up the top ranking for Missouri.

Gators beat FSU 45-12 in a game when Tebow played half the game with a broken hand. USF beat Pitt (at Pittsburg) last Saturday 48-37 assuring themselves of a berth in the Sun Bowl.

The big football news?

Bucs beat Washington 19-13.
