Middle School Students Join Morton Plant Hospital Holiday Lights Celebration

CLEARWATER - For more than a quarter of a century the warm glow of lights strung in the shape of a seven-story holiday tree has adorned Morton Plant Hospital during the holiday season. On Wednesday, December 5, the 26th annual Morton Plant Holiday Lights celebration will kick off at 6 p.m., at Morton Plant Hospital ?(Main Entrance Parking Lot) ?300 Pinellas Street in ?Clearwater.

This year students from Oak Grove Middle School in Clearwater have been invited to join in the celebration by singing holiday carols.

In addition to the tree lighting and carol singing, this event also raises donations for the hospital's volunteer organization - Morton Plant Caring Partners. For a $5 donation members of the community may honor a loved one by sponsoring a light on the hospital's holiday tree. Wreaths also may be sponsored in the name of a loved one for donations of $100 or more.

Morton Plant Caring Partners benefits community outreach programs including Camp Living Springs - a free, three-day camp held in Ellenton that provides tranquility and fun for adult cancer survivors to help them cope with medical treatments and range of emotions they may be experiencing.
