Clearwater Rotary Club Honors Carl Lavender
Carl Lavender, Executive Director of the Boys and Girls Clubs of the Suncoast, was guest speaker at a recent Clearwater Rotary luncheon. Carl, seen on the left, was hosted by Rotarian, Craig Gilman. Carl has been involved with B&GCs for more than 25 years and was recently awarded with the National Silver Medallion for outstanding service. His first job with the B&GCs was in Columbus, Ohio, followed by the Dr. Martin Luther King Club on Chicago's tough west side. Carl has been at the Suncoast facility for more than seven years. He manages a $2.7 million budget with over 11,000 children and youth served annually. The Rotary Club of Clearwater meets each Wednesday at noon at Belleair Country Club.
