
SPCA Breaks Ground on New Adoption Facility
Sam, an adoptable Beagle, helps to break ground on SPCA Tampa Bay's newest addition. SPCA Tampa Bay groundbreaking on a new adoption facility, the Edward D. Foreman Adoption Center, located at 9099 130th Avenue North in Largo (just south of Ulmerton and Starkey Roads), was held December 5th. The Edward D. Foreman Adoption Center is a tribute to Bonnie Foreman's love for her late husband Edward and their beloved cat, Timmy. For 32 years, Edward D. Foreman was a successful lawyer and served as City Attorney for Pinellas Park since 1975. He was a prominent figure in the community noted as a brilliant attorney, a selfless philanthropist and animal lover. The Largo animal shelter's new state-of-the-art adoption center will facilitate adoptions for thousands of homeless pets and their new pet parents in a friendly, inviting atmosphere. The new building will be complete with a pet boutique. Proceeds will help to provide food, shelter and medical care for the more than 15,000 homeless pets the SPCA cares for annually.
