
December 31 is the Deadline to Register for January 29 ElectionsPinellas County Supervisor of Elections Deborah Clark is reminding county residents that Monday, December 31 is the voter registration deadline to vote in the January 29 Presidential Preference Primary. Registration is available during regular business hours at any Supervisor of Elections office, public library, driver license office or any government office handling social services or disabilities. For a list of registration sites, visit www.votepinellas.com. Pinellas County Supervisor of Elections offices will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on December 31, although some government offices and other registration locations will be closed. Registration is required for new voters. New Pinellas County residents from other Florida counties can make an address change through Election Day. Any party changes must be made by December 31 in order to be effective for the Presidential Preference Primary. Registered Democrats and Republicans may vote for candidates from their respective political parties. All registered Pinellas County voters may vote in the statewide property tax referendum and the School Board referendum. In addition, municipal elections will be conducted in Clearwater, Safety Harbor, Gulfport, Redington Shores and South Pasadena. Citizens who are already registered to vote are encouraged to update any name, address, party or signature changes prior to election day. Address changes within the county may be made by phone. Other updates may be made by completing and signing a Voter Registration Application with the changes noted. Any registered voter may request a ballot by mail by calling (727) 464-6788.
