Dr. Caroline Kaufman, left, and Wendy Knaack are co-presidents of the Area Beautification Council of Upper Pinellas, a local organization composed of two representatives from nine area garden clubs--Belleair Garden Club, Clearwater Garden Club, Dunedin Garden Club, Bay Bouquet Garden Club, Tarpon Springs Garden Club, Safety Harbor Garden Club, Top of the Bay Garden Club, Garden Club of Largo and Palm Harbor Garden Club. The council, which meets in October, December, February, April and May, is sponsoring a contest among its member clubs this year. A monetary prize will be awarded in April to the club whose community beautification project is judged best by three master landscaping judges from the Florida Federation of Garden Clubs.
