
Civil Service Board Seeks New MemberCLEARWATER. - The City of Clearwater Civil Service Board is looking for a Clearwater resident to serve on the Board for a three-year term. The Board is composed of five members. Two are appointed by the City Manager, city employees elect two, and those four members appoint the fifth member. Currently, one of the City Manager's appointments is vacant. The Civil Service Board focuses on these core functions: to conduct public hearings on proposed changes to the Civil Service Rules; to provide advice and counsel on all aspects of human resources management; to receive Findings of Facts from Hearing Officers in relation to employee disciplinary action appeals; and to determine the appropriate penalties, if any, to be imposed. Those wishing to be considered must be a Clearwater resident not presently involved with any type of labor union or organization commonly associated with municipal management or administration.
