
Volunteers Needed for Two Clearwater CleanupsCLEARWATER. - The City of Clearwater will be hosting two cleanups in January and volunteers are needed for the following events: Wood Valley Neighborhood Cleanup will be held Saturday, Jan. 12, from 8 a.m. to noon. Meet at Wood Valley Recreation Center/Boys and Girls Club, 2816 Park Trail Lane. The cleanup area is North (Edenwood), South (Park Trail), East (Melonwood), and West (Beachwood), to remove trash, litter, and debris from the Wood Valley neighborhood. Trash pickers, trash bags, and gloves will be provided. To sign up, call Eric Wilson at (727) 562-4554. Memorial Causeway Exotic Plant Removal Cleanup will be held Saturday, Jan. 19, from 9 a.m. to noon. Meet and park at the corner of Gulf to Bay Blvd. and the Memorial Causeway Beach, at the blacktop parking lot on the causeway's southeast side to remove invasive vines growing along the mangrove shoreline.
