Registration Underway for 12th Annual Neuter-A-ThonCLEARWATER -The Humane Society of Pinellas has started taking appointments for the 12th Annual Neuter-A-Thon which will be held Saturday, February 16. This is the time to schedule the low-cost neuter for your cat(s)! There are also limited spaces available for dog neuters to be scheduled as well. Pet overpopulation leads to homeless, neglected, abused and unwanted pets. The Humane Society of Pinellas encourages all pet owners to neuter or spay their pets to help with the overpopulation problems not only in our area, but nationwide. If you have an intact male cat, know someone who does, or have a roaming one, please invite him for this year's Neuter-A-Thon. Pre-registration is required to participate in the Neuter-A-Thon. All appointments are to be scheduled in person. Appointments will be set on a first come first serve basis. Owners are required to fill out an application, sign consent form, provide a valid ID and pay for services prior to February 16. Feline neuters will be $15 and canine neuters at $30. All participants MUST have proof of a current Rabies Vaccine and a county License for all residents of Pinellas County. If needed, the Rabies Vaccine will be $2 and a license is $8. Canine neuters will be scheduled on alternate dates. All dogs under 1 year of age must also show proof of a negative Heartworm test within the 6 months prior to surgery. All intact male cats and dogs are invited for a special date at The Humane Society of Pinellas' Sterling & Calvin Medical Center located at 3040 State Rd. 590 in Clearwater.
