Increased Density for Beach Hotels to be Discussed at Public Meeting

CLEARWATER. - The City of Clearwater's Planning Department will hold a public meeting to discuss a proposed increase to the maximum allowable density for hotel uses, or overnight accommodations, on Clearwater Beach.

The meeting will take place Wednesday, Feb. 13, at 6 p.m., at the Clearwater Beach Recreation Complex, 69 Bay Esplanade.

The proposed increase will be presented to and discussed with the City Council in March 2008. The city would like to bring the public's feedback to the discussion with the City Council.

"We're working with the community to obtain input from local businesses and residents about possible increases to allowable density for overnight accommodations on Clearwater Beach," said Michael Delk, Planning Director. "Anyone who is interested is encouraged to attend."

For more information, call the city's Planning Department at (727) 562-4567.
