Pinellas County Firefighter of the Year AnnouncedIt is with great pride that Dunedin Fire Department announces the recipient of the prestigious Pinellas County Fire Fighter of the Year Award. The award recipient is Dunedin Fire Department District Chief William "Trip" Barrs. The award was presented at the annual Pinellas County Police Fire and EMS Awards Banquet on February 1st at the Vinoy Hotel in St. Petersburg. The ceremony was hosted by County Commissioner John Morroni and proceeds from the dinner will benefit the Police Athletic League. Chief Barrs has also received the 2007 Emergency Medical Services Medal from the Sons of the American Revolution and was the recipient of the 2007 City of Dunedin Fire Fighter of the Year Award. Chief Barrs resides in Dunedin with his wife Melissa and two daughters.
