Heritage Village Hosts Pinellas Folk Festival

(from right) Volunteer docent Kenneth Habershon, portraying a rural doctor of 1923, provides information on the medical practices of the day to Guyla Ross and her granddaughter, Jessica Ross, at the 1915 Walsingham House during the Pinellas County Historical Society's 15th annual Pinellas Folk Festival at Heritage Village in Largo on January 26. Guyla Ross said she was especially interested in his presentation as she is a former nurse. Old-time games, storytelling, traditional craft demonstrations, antique cars and live entertainment were among the other attractions that day.

The Pleasant Family performs at Heritage Village during Pinellas Folk Festival 2008 on January 26. The group, which hails from Largo, is scheduled to perform at the upcoming Florida State Fair in Tampa. Festival goers enjoyed traditional folk, gospel, country and bluegrass music as individual musicians and musical groups took the stage at various locations throughout the park.
