City Recognizes Neighborhood and Homes of the Quarter

CLEARWATER - The City of Clearwater is proud to announce its winter selections for the Neighborhood and Homes of the Quarter Recognition Program that celebrates the uniqueness of Clearwater's many neighborhoods and its residents.

Honors go to Edgewater Drive Neighborhood for the Neighborhood of the Quarter and four local homeowners including: James and Luanne Hammond, 301 North Pegasus Ave.; David and Sherri Kelly, 416 North Lincoln Ave.; Deborah Hammack, 10 North Pegasus Ave. and Ray and Gerda Massieu, 817 Bruce Ave.

The award for Neighborhood of the Quarter recognizes those neighborhoods that have demonstrated a decrease in neighborhood crime, a decrease in code violations, an increase in neighborhood involvement and empowerment, community pride activities, and/or neighborhood sustainability. The award for Home of the Quarter recognizes those properties and property owners that have sustained or made significant improvements to their properties enhancing the neighborhood and community.

Mayor Frank Hibbard will present certificates of appreciation to the award-winning neighborhood and recipients of the Home of the Quarter awards at the Feb. 7 Clearwater City Council meeting. The Edgewater Drive Neighborhood will have a Neighborhood of the Quarter sign placed at its entrance and recipients of Homes of the Quarter awards will receive certificates of appreciation, plaques to be permanently affixed to their homes, and Homes of the Quarter yard signs.
