Winner of Eagle Scout Essay Contest AnnouncedEagle Scout, James Welch, was the winner of the Eagle Scout Essay Contest. The award was presented by Compatriot Grant Wallin, the Eagle Scout representative, at the SAR (Sons of the American Revolution) January 16 Chapter meeting. James moves on to the State Essay Competition and quite possible the National Level. He read his essay which was written of his ancestor, Edmund Welch., who served in the Maine Militia during the American Revolution.
