City Seeks Teens to Help Organize Spring Youth Summit

CLEARWATER - The city of Clearwater is seeking high school students interested in helping to organize an April 19 city-hosted youth summit at the Sheraton Sand Key Hotel.

The summit will help teens develop leadership skills as they discuss the concept of human capital and offer their input on how to improve Clearwater as a youth and young professional-friendly city. Those who volunteer will work on fundraising and grant applications, development of the summit's program and contacting professionals who will serve as seminar leaders and speakers.

An organizational meeting will be held Monday, Feb. 25, at 4 p.m. in room 130, Clearwater Municipal Services Building, 100 S. Myrtle Ave. Interested teens should be either residents of Clearwater or attend a Clearwater school if they reside outside the city limits. Representatives from youth organizations in the Clearwater area are also encouraged to attend.
