Registration Opens for Morton Plant Mease TriathlonCLEARWATER - Registration has opened for the third annual Morton Plant Mease Triathlon. More than 800 individual athletes and relay teams are invited to register and compete in the triathlon benefiting the four hospitals of Morton Plant Mease Health Care. The race is sponsored by the Morton Plant Mease Foundation and sanctioned by USA Triathlon. It features a 1/3-mile open water swim in the Gulf of Mexico, a 13-mile bike race over the Sand Key, Belleair Causeway and Memorial Causeway bridges and 3.1 mile run finishing in Sand Key Park. The race kicks off Sunday, July 13, 7 a.m., at Sand Key Park, 1060 Gulf Blv.
