Beach Walk Construction Updateprovided by the City of ClearwaterPhases II and III of the Beach Walk project will be complete in May, well ahead of schedule. At that time South Gulfview Boulevard will open fully. The only portion of the east side promenade that will remain closed is in front of the Hyatt Aqualea construction site. The west side promenade is already open from the Pier 60 parking lot to the southern limit of the $30 million project. Once South Gulfview Boulevard opens, workers will return to Coronado Drive. On-street parking, final asphalt and additional lighting will be completed. This final work on Coronado is expected to take 2-3 months. The next Beach Walk Hard Hat Meeting will be 9:20 a.m. Tuesday, April 1, at the South Beach Sports Grill, 731 Bayway Blvd. The targeted date for substantial completion of the Beach Walk project is before Super Bowl 2009, but all work should be done in July, well ahead of schedule.
