GULFPORT, Fla.- Stetson University College of Law in Gulfpor, will begin administering an annual semester abroad program in London, England. The program will run mid-August through mid-December.
Stetson's latest study abroad option allows students the opportunity to spend the fall semester in London. Law students from other ABA approved schools, as well as foreign law students, are invited to attend.
"Stetson is tremendously excited to offer law students this unique opportunity to study law in England, the home of common law," said Stetson Law Vice President and Dean Darby Dickerson.
Classes will be held in the historic Bloomsbury area or "Legal London." Bloomsbury is also home to the University of London and the British Museum.
Students will have an opportunity to study both U.S. and European law, taking classes on the legal system and research and writing in the U.K., along with practical skills classes in advocacy from an international faculty.
While in London, students may apply for internships with the Crown Prosecutors, the Legal Society of London, the 2012 London Olympic Committee, Fair Trials Abroad, Amnesty International, as well as with other solicitors and barristers.
This is one of only nine American Bar Association approved semester abroad programs in the nation and one of only three ABA approved fall semester programs in London to accept law students from other ABA approved law schools.
