BayStar Hotel Group to Develop Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites in Downtown LargoTAMPA - BayStar Hotel Group, LLC is developing the Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites - Largo Central Park. The company plans to break ground in early April (2008) and welcome guests in first quarter of 2009. Situated at 206 Seminole Blvd. in downtown Largo, the $11 million, five-story hotel will have 95 rooms, 36 of them suites. BayStar Hotel Group will own and operate the roughly 65,000 square-foot hotel. Plans include a meeting room that seats 100 and can be divided into two 50-seat spaces, along with a state-of-the-art executive board room. Room rates are expected to range from $95 to $145 per night. BayStar Hotel Group, which also developed and owns the nearby The Hampton Inn & Suites Largo Central Park, likes the location. We love the synergy of the downtown area, said George Glover, chairman of BayStar Hotel Group and former chair of the Largo Chamber of Commerce. Largo has a rapidly growing business community with a strong regional medical component, and the City's economic development plan for the Central Business Development will continue to provide good business travel clientele. Glover also noted that the new hotels proximity to Largo Central Park, one of the finest in-town nature areas in Florida, restaurants, shops and the Largo Cultural Center draws leisure guests. Using the inventory of both hotels, we have the potential to attract large leisure groups on weekends, he added.
