RCS provides basic human needs services of food, shelter safety and clothing to those in need through out Pinellas County. The festival, in its third year, is co-sponsored by the City of Largo and is an integral part of the City's events at Largo Central Park for the past two years. The mission of SummerFest is to produce an annual fun, family-friendly event with quality music and food supported by both youth and adult volunteers. SummerFest is presented by RCS in partnership with individuals, corporations and other organizations. Saturday: Tito Puente, Jr. with his band will be taking the stage at 8:15 to 9:45 p.m. Tito has been following in his father's footsteps. Performing his father's music which is not only Latin Jazz but rhythm and blues as well. Tito has also appeared on the highly rated ABC-TV daytime drama "One Life to Live" in performance with his big band. His latest CD, "In My Father's Shoes," featuring the classic Puente favorites, was spun off into a television special tribute by BET Jazz. Sunday: The Neville Brothers are back, which means be ready for the feel and depths of New Orleans rhythm and blues to hit Largo. The Neville's continue to provoke, entertain and excite audiences around the globe. Their similarity/diversity dynamic continues on its paradoxical path. They play together; they play apart. Each of the four brothers pursues projects of their own. Aaron has forged a highly successful solo career. RCS is seeking volunteers to participate in this exciting and fun event. Volunteers are needed for: Beer, wine, soda and water sales, ice delivery, parking, donation tent and set up/clean up.
