Toronto Blue Jays DH Frank Thomas is a favorite with fans at Knology Park in Dunedin on a recent afternoon. The 40-year-old future Hall of Famer, who has surpassed 500 career homeruns, spent 10-15 minutes obliging autograph seekers on a daily basis during spring training. He was caught on camera prior to a game against the Tampa Bay Rays. The Blue Jays accumulated 13 wins and 16 losses in exhibition play this year. The Rays had their most successful season yet with 18 wins, 8 losses.
Cleveland Indians slugger Travis "Pronk" Hafner, at bat during a game against the Philadelphia Phillies at Bright House Networks Field, hails from tiny Sykeston, N.D., where he was valedictorian of his high school. There were only eight students in his graduating class. Now 30, he is starting his seventh major league season. Cleveland concluded spring training with 15 wins, 14 losses. The Phillies finished with 12 wins, 18 losses.
