Budget Workshops to Address City's Fiscal ChallengesCLEARWATER - The city will hold two interactive budget meetings with Clearwater residents on Monday, April 14 at the Long Center, and Wednesday, April 23 at the Main Library. Both meetings are from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Recent legislation and constitutional Amendments have fundamentally changed the budget requirements for local government, and the city needs help from Clearwater residents to begin setting priorities for the coming year. At the direction of the City Council, the Public Communications Department is working to help identify community priorities and inform residents about the city's current and future budget challenges. The meetings will consist of an overview of the city's current and future budget projections, and then residents will be asked to participate in an interactive exercise to set their own budget priorities based on projected reductions.
