
Animal Lovers Invited to Bring Pets to Downtown Pet FairCLEARWATER - Clearwater Main Street's 3rd Annual Spring Pet Fair will bring some of the community's most competitive pets, owners and animal lovers to Clearwater's Cleveland Street District, April 12, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The event, on the recently completed, features pet rescue organizations, vendors, a pet training demonstration by the Upper Suncoast Dog Training Club and the Pinellas County Animobile-a state-of-the-art mobile surgical operation to help reduce pet overpopulation. Pets and their owners can vie for prizes in the following categories: Pet Parade, Pet/Owner Look-alike Contest, Puppy Races and Pet Tricks. The grand prize is a three-day/two-night stay in a pet-friendly suite at the Trade Winds Island Grand of St. Pete Beach. The event is free and entertainment and refreshments will be available for purchase. "This is an entertaining event that will reintroduce many residents to the downtown core-the Cleveland Street District," said Anne Fogarty, Main Street Program Coordinator. "Last year's event drew many spirited participants and we look forward to even more competitors this year." The Spring Pet Fair is an annual promotional event sponsored by the Downtown Development Board and Clearwater Main Street to showcase downtown businesses and stimulate commerce in Clearwater's Cleveland Street District.
