Got Ribbon?Anyone driving through the Harbor Bluffs subdivision recently may have noticed PURPLE RIBBONS appearing on mailboxes. These are part of the community's efforts to promote awareness of, and raise money for, the local American Cancer Society. Many local residents are unaware that we have a "Suncoast Area" American Cancer Society office in Pinellas Park. This office offers more than 20 types of resources including support groups, information and referral services, smoking cessation and transportation programs. As evidenced by the "color purple", Harbor Bluffs residents are supporting these programs with their donations. Every ribbon represents a heartfelt donation. In addition, on Sunday, April 13th Harbor Bluffs residents will be lighting luminaries in memory of those lost to cancer, in celebration of those cured and in support of our family, friends and loved ones battling the disease. From 7 to 9 p.m. neighbors and friends will walk throughout the community sharing their sadness, joy and commitment to fighting this disease. For more information, please contact Shannon Garman at the Suncoast Area American Cancer Society office at (727) 546-9822.
