Did you know April is National Volunteer Month? Hats off to all the volunteers in the various communities throughout the county. Kudos to Milagros Rodriguez, City of Clearwater's "Volunteer of the Quarter" for January-March, 2008, and the students and faculty from Clearwater Central Catholic High School who earned the city's "Service Group of the Quarter" award for their cleanup service project along the Memorial Causeway ... Applause, please, for Gerry Boyer, who made a hole-in-one on the 5th hole of the East Course at Belleair Country Club not long ago ... Victoria Yore was elected president of the new 4-H club, Ballroom Bicycle Brigade (BBB). Other officers are Adison Julian, vice president; John Row, secretary; Heather Moore, treasurer; Aleyah Webb, reporter; and Lindsay Nobles, historian ... Congratulations to the following couples celebrating wedding anniversaries: Dan and Gloria Smith, Matthew and Diane Young, Terry and Indra Eldridge (April 28); Gerald and Linda Parks, 8th (April 29) ... Belated congrats are in order for Ray and Pat Smith, Craig and Barbara Emery and Chad and Sarah Hilker. A little bird told us it was the Smiths' 50th anniversary! We also heard it was anniversary #4 for Craig and Barbara ... It's birthday time once again for Jody Pollick Schwahn, Arielle Myers, Douglas Stima, Olive Roff, Ray Ward, William Braciak and Max Adams. All celebrate their special day today, April 24 ...
