PAL Kingfish Tournament a Huge Success

The winning fish

CLEARWATER - Over 117 boats participated in the PAL Pro Marine Kingfish Tournament held at the Clearwater Yacht Club on Saturday, April 26. The fishing was excellent and the overall winner was a 48.25 lb kingfish caught by angler Jerry Solovskoy aboard the boat Native. Other team members included captain Robert Snibbe "Cawley", Jason Weiinman and Doug Henriott. All members of the team wanted to "especially thank the PAL and Clearwater Yacht Club for putting on such a great tournament."

The winning kingfish was caught "180 miles south on a live blue runner" according to the jubilant anglers who took home the top prize of $20,000 along with a check from Pro Marine. They jokingly mentioned that they had won $250 worth of gas the night of the captain's meeting which made it easier to go such a distance!
