City of Clearwater Announces 2007/08 Neighborhood and Homes of the Year
CLEARWATER - The City of Clearwater has announced its 2007/08 selections for Neighborhood of the Year and Home of the Year.
Neighborhood of the Year honors for 2007/08 go to Bayview Heights Neighbors, a close-knit community located north of Douglas Avenue, and east of North Myrtle Avenue. Robert and Denise Resch of 210 Orangewood Ave. have been awarded the Home of the Year.
This recognition program celebrates the uniqueness of Clearwater's residents and where they live. The Neighborhood of the Year award honors a neighborhood that has demonstrated a decrease in neighborhood crime and code violations, an increase in neighborhood involvement and empowerment, and community activities that nurture neighborhood sustainability. The Home of the Year Award recognizes one or more homeowners who have made significant improvements to their properties, maintained home sustainability and enhanced the overall neighborhood appearance.
Mayor Frank Hibbard presented the awards at the 6 p.m. May 1 City Council meeting. For additional information about the Home of the Year and Neighborhood of the Year programs please contact Neighborhood Services at 562-4585.
