Cooters Raw Bar & Restaurant Invites all to 3-Day Bash

CLEARWATER BEACH - To celebrate 15 years on Clearwater Beach, Cooters Raw Bar & Restaurant will host a three-day tent party for friends, visitors, and area residents. The weekend event will include live bands, special theme menus, food and drink specials, free prizes, and a raffle for flat screen televisions. Profits from the raffle will benefit the Clearwater Marine Aquarium.

The weekend bash will kick off at 6 p.m. Friday, May 16, with a pig roast, live music by local band, The Burners, and free prizes from Cooters throughout the evening. The Budweiser Girls will be circulating throughout the restaurant and the big tent with free promotional give-aways. Special Happy Hour prices will be offered from 3 to 7 p.m. daily throughout the weekend, and continuing through the summer.

Saturday's festivities start at 6 p.m. with Cooters' special clambake, which features steamed clams, mussels, oysters, shrimp, sausage, potatoes and corn on the cob. The Burners will take the stage again at 7 p.m. and Cooters' staff will hold a drawing for free prizes every half-hour. The Bacardi Girls will provide drink specials and free give-aways.

On Sunday, Cooters has planned a "backyard barbecue," complete with barbecued chicken, baked beans and traditional barbecue fare. Nationally renowned band Tribal Style will perform Reggae and beach music beginning at 7 p.m. The Cooters' staff and The Margaritaville Girls will be on hand with free door prizes and drink specials.

"This party is our way of saying thank you to the community," said Carol Mears, owner of Cooters. "We are truly grateful to all of our loyal customers who have frequented Cooters over the last 15 years, and we look forward to many more years of good food and good times at Cooters."

Lead Manager Joe Bertha adds, "We've reached a significant company milestone, and we are excited to throw this party for our customers and our great staff." "We also use this opportunity to help raise funds for the Clearwater Marine Aquarium. Last year, we raised a record $1,220.00 for the Aquarium. We're hoping to beat that record this year!"

The Clearwater Marine Aquarium is a non-profit organization dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation and release of dolphins, otters and sea turtles. During the months of April through October, sea turtles migrate to Florida beaches for mating and nesting purposes. One of the goals of the Clearwater Marine Aquarium is to help protect the turtles that come to the Gulf beaches.

Cooters (whose name originates from a Southern slang term for turtle) is selling raffle tickets for a chance to win a 32" flat screen TV, with proceed profits being donated to the Aquarium. Three TV's will be raffles. Raffle tickets are $5 each or three (3) for $10, and can be purchased at both Cooters and the Clearwater Marine Aquarium between now and May 18th.

The drawings for the TV's will be held at Cooters during the party. One TV will be raffled each day. Winners need not be present to win.
