Honor Bailey at the Lincoln Memorial, Washington, DCLocal Student Attends National Young Leaders Conference
Honor Bailey recently got quite a hands-on education about how government works in Washington, DC. Honor, 16, a sophomore in the International Baccalaureate program at St. Petersburg High School and a Largo resident, was nomination by her school to attend the National Young Leaders Conference. The conference, held in Washington, DC, brings together students from all over the country to learn about leadership and American government through hands-on workshops. Students sit in the chambers of Congress and meet with their Senators and Representatives. Held over six days, the National Young Leaders Conference gives students a greater understanding of their roles in democracy and the responsibilities of leadership. Honor is the daughter of Keith and Lucy Bailey of Largo.
