Moffitt Cancer Center Celebrates Survivors

TAMPA – A cancer diagnosis can be a difficult obstacle to overcome. Moffitt Cancer Center celebrates and recognizes cancer survivors.

Moffitt will be “Celebrating Survivorship” in an educational event that is interactive and entertaining to patients, caregivers and health care providers.

The celebration will be held on Saturday, June 21, from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Vincent A. Stabile Research Building at Moffitt Cancer Center, 12902 Magnolia Drive. Registration and breakfast will be available from 8 to 9 a.m.

“Celebrating Survivorship” will offer new initiatives in survivorship care and research, resource and support services and the opportunity to speak with a panel of survivors and health care providers.

The event will feature a presentation by Dr. Wendy S. Harpham, an internal medicine physician, long-term cancer survivor and best-selling author of Happiness in a Storm. She will address the obstacles to happiness after a cancer diagnosis.

Moffitt’s Dr. Richard Gross and Paul Jacobsen, Ph.D. will also present “New Initiatives in Survivorship Care and Research.”

A continental breakfast and lunch will be provided. The event is free and reservations are required. Please RSVP to 1-888-MOFFITT by June 16.
