Letter sent to City of Largo CommissionersFor many years I have been attending an aerobics class three (3) times a week at the Largo Community Center. (Before that in Belleair) I wonder why you feel the need for a new community center. Why would you want to move this fine attraction from downtown Largo? For years you have been trying to develop that area. The current CC is located in the approximately geographical center of Largo. By what logic would you move it to the perimeter? If you feel the community center is too small (it gets a little crowded during Jan., Feb., and March, but never too small) there is a parking lot to the west of the building where an addition could be built. Parking could be extended to the north of the present lot. I, for one and many in my class, would not drive to Keene or Highland. A 20 -25 minute ride each way for a 1-hour class is just not worth it. - Christel Hunsicker P.S. Same goes for the new Largo Towne Center. Keep the action DOWNTOWN! Centrally located.
