
Call for Nominations for the Col. Edward T. Imparato HeroST. PETERSBURG The Pinellas Animal Foundation is now accepting nominations for the 2008 Col. Edward T. Imparato Hero Awards through August 1. The awards celebrate the importance of the human/animal bond in either a heroic act or life long efforts. Nominations can be made in one of three categories:
1. Individual Community Hero a person who works with people or community organizations that demonstrate the importance of the human/animal bond.
Winners will receive two tickets and will be honored at the 10th Annual Bowser Ball at the St. Petersburg Yacht Club on October 4, 2008. Nominations must be received no later than August 1, 2008. Imparato Hero Awards began in 2001 to honor Col. Imparato's love of animals and for his work with the Morton Plant Hospital, Pinellas Animal Foundation and other non-profit organizations in Pinellas County. The Pinellas Animal Foundation, a non-profit veterinary and community partnership established in 1983, is dedicated to improved animal care, owner responsibility and increased awareness of the value of the human/animal bond. The foundation provides humane education and service programs that increase awareness of the value of humane treatment, encouraging respect, tolerance, compassion and personal responsibility.
