Civitan Honors Clearwater Police
(l-r) Clearwater Civitan President Frank Kelley, Corporal Brett Faulk and Clearwater Police Chief Sid Klein. CLEARWATER - The Clearwater Civitan Club gave recognition to the Clearwater Police Department recently. As in previous years all police officers were thanked for their dedication and a specific police officer was honored. ?This year the recipient of the Clearwater Civitan Club Award for Excellent Performance of Police Duty and Community Service was presented to Corporal Brett Faulk for his tireless work in our community and specifically because he saved the life of a suicidal man on the Memorial Causeway March 26, 2008. As Clearwater Police Chief Sid Klein and Civitan President Frank Kelley made the presentation, Police Chief Klein said, “Corporal Brett Faulk, in the early morning hours of March 26th, you responded to a suicidal man on the Memorial Causeway Bridge and for more than an hour you kept him talking while listening attentively. You gained his trust and convinced him to climb back over the railing, out of harm’s way. Officers were able to grab him off the side of the bridge, and bring him back to safety. While this was a team effort, you played a critical role in saving this man’s life. For your honorable actions, Corporal Faulk, we are proud to announce you are the recipient of the Clearwater Civitan Club Award for Excellent Performance of Police Duty and Community Service. Congratulations Corporal Faulk.”
