
National Society of Arts and Letters Installs Officers for 2008-2010On June 3rd the National Society of Arts and Letters, Clearwater/Tampa Bay Chapter, installed its new Board of Directors at a luncheon meeting at the Belleair Country Club. Past National President, Barbara Branscum, installed Sue Bowles as 2008-2010 president; Leslie Freedman, as first vice president; second vice president, Grace Boykin; recording secretary, Ruth Ann Proudfoot; corresponding secretary, Bobbie Wileman Adair; treasurer, Anne Lauder; publicity/historian, Marie Gage; and Chaplain, Terry McHarg. Denna Shiben, outgoing Chapter President, was given a gold charm commemorating her years of service to the Chapter. She was recently installed as the National Second Vice President of the National Society of Arts and Letters in a ceremony in Bloomington, Indiana. The mission of the NSAL is to encourage and assist young artists by awarding scholarships and awards to non-members in the arts through competitions and exhibitions, and to promote greater public interest in the arts.
