Local Landmarks Spotlighted in Star-Studden Film
Several local hotels and restaurants made the big screen when “Love Comes Lately,” a star-studded film shot in St. Petersburg/Clearwater, debuted in New York City on June 13.
This quirky tale of an elderly writer, whose fictional life is continually becoming confused with his real life, stars a renowned international cast featuring Barbara Hershey, Rhea Perlman, Elizabeth Peña, and Austrian actor Otto Tausig in the title role.
Although part of the film is set in Miami Beach, the filmmakers instead chose to shoot in Pinellas County in late 2006. Some of the recognizable locations featured include the Don CeSar Beach Resort & Spa, The Belleview Biltmore, Sea Critters Cafe and Vina Del Mar in St. Pete Beach and the Olympia Motel on Clearwater Beach. Production also took place in New York.
A wider-release is possible later this year.
