
Moccasin Lake Nature Park’s Fireside Concert Series SlatedCLEARWATER – Fireside Concert Series will be held Saturday, July 12, from 7 to 9 p.m., at Moccasin Lake Nature Park, 2750 Park Trail Lane in Clearwater (Just N.E. of the corner of US 19 and Drew Street- enter from Drew). This event is drug and alcohol free, suitable for family outings. The concert will feature Safira Tribal Fusion that is a multi-faceted band that presents percussion instruments to express the diversity of earth’s rhythms and cultures – “Safira” is unique. Safira’s songs are done without lyrics or electronic sounds; using only percussion instruments. Safira intertwines its own new rhythms with other cultural rhythms, playing on a variety of hand drums, as well as using other instruments to create a variety of Mother Nature’s sounds. Together with their dancers they put on an exciting show, with an original sound that is attributed to their own unique mixture and special fusion of African and world music. They play a variety of instruments from all over the world including djembe, conga, ocean drums, doumbek, log drums, talking drums, balaphone, bodhran, riq, guitar, flute, keyboard and a number of other percussion instruments representing different cultures of the world. The band invites everyone to join them at the end of their performance for a drum jam and encourages audience participation. During intermission enjoy beverages, toast marshmallows and make delicious s’mores around the campfire. All the fixings will be provided. All this, PLUS one free return trip general admission receipt per person for each paid admission to the concert! The concert is held indoors during inclement weather. Admission is: 13 years and up - $5, 3 to 12 years - $3, and 2 years and under - $1.
