Big Splashers waiting to hear who the next lucky Webkinz winner would be took a break from the anticipation to cheer Gracie's Big Splash

BELLEAIR – The town came together Sunday at the Dimmitt Community Center for Gracie's Big Splash kid friendly fundraiser, an afternoon of water slide fun, games, food baked goods and prizes. The first Big Splash held last year was organized after 5-year-old Gracie Purdy of Belleair captivated the community's heart when it was learned that she was diagnosed with a cancerous brain stem tumor. She succumbed to the cancer last April.

The Big Splash was held again this year in her loving memory. Proceeds from the event went to the Elena Tresh Foundation. The foundation provides support for those caring for children suffering from a catastrophic illness, terminal diagnosis, or loss of life.

A tribute to Grace Purdy and other children who have lost their lives this past year will be held at an upcoming fundraiser during the Elena Tresh Foundation's 2nd Annual Gala September 28, 2008 from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the Florida Aquarium. Live and silent auctions will take place and actor Kevin Pollack will attend as special guest.

Businesses and individuals interested in donating auction items or purchasing an advertisement can call the foundation office at (727) 210-1019. For tickets, group table reservations, and more information, visit:etfinc.org.
