Largo City Manager Receives Positive Review and 4% Salary Increase

LARGO - City manager Norton Craig received a performance and compensation review in accordance with his employment contract with the city. On a scale of 1 to 5 dealing with an evaluation of performance in a variety of areas, Craig received an aggregate score of 4.1.

In the city commission meeting last week, commissioners approved a 4% salary increase for the city manager effective August 2008. The increase will move Craig's base salary from $140,000 to $145,600 per year.

With benefits the effective compensation packages will be approximately $175,000. In addition, the city provides the city manager with an automobile for his use in the execution of official duties and pays for all gas, oil, repairs, licenses and insurance necessary for its use.
