Beginning Oil Painting LessonsOil Painting Classes will be offered at the Dimmitt Recreation Center in Belleair beginning on Tuesday, September 2. These classes will be run on a continuous basis throughout the year. New students may enter at any time. The hours are 5 to 8 p.m. Students will learn about paints and brushes, color mixing, composition, and all of the basics needed to form a foundation in traditional oil painting methods. The classes emphasize individual creativity, and learning new skills in a fun and friendly atmosphere. Class size is limited. Classes will consist of demonstrations, painting time and critique sessions. A still life will be set-up or students may work on their own personal projects. The class fee is $64 for each four weeks of instruction. No membership is required. Should a student have a vacation planned and informs the center at registration she will not be charged for that time. The instructor is Betsy Schoepf of Indian Rocks Beach. Small classes provide for individual attention. Students may bring a sandwich and drinks are available. The Dimmitt Center is located at 918 Osceola in Belleair.
