Clearwater will join communities around the world from Beijing, China to New York City as they fill the skies with the universal language of music in the "September Concert." The concert is a remembrance of the 9/11 tragedy and a celebration of the national Sister Cities program instituted by President Dwight D. Eisenhower Sept. 11, 1956.

The event will begin with a brief ceremony at 6 p.m. on the steps of Clearwater City Hall, 112 S. Osceola Ave. Clearwater Mayor Frank Hibbard will give a welcome address and the Dunedin Highland Middle School Band will provide music. A concert will follow at Peace Memorial Presbyterian Church that will include choral music, dance, poetry and commentary. The concert will conclude with a worldwide sing-along of “Let it Be.”

The public is invited to the event sponsored jointly by the city of Clearwater and Clearwater Sister Cities Inc.
