Soroptimist Looking for WomenSoroptimist International (an organization of women helping women) offers three annual awards for woman: >The first, (Woman’s Opportunity Award) assists women with primary financial responsibility for their families to obtain the skills training and education necessary to improve their employment status and standard of living for themselves and their family. They must be enrolled in (or has been accepted to) a vocational/skills training program or an undergraduate degree program. >The second, (Violet Richardson Award) is a recognition program for young women, ages 14-17 engaged in volunteer action within their communities or schools. This award is given to young women whose activities make the community and world a better place. >The third, (Women Making a Difference) is presented to a woman who has worked to improve the lives of women and girls through her professional or volunteer work.
