Recs and ReadsBy Anne McKay GarrisNow that the weather is heading towards cooler, you might want to take those tennis lessons you have said you were going to. Lessons are now available at the excellent tennis courts at the Clearwater Recreation Complex, 69 Bay Esplanade. Translated that means, "turn east at the corner of Mandalay Avenue where there is the Fire Station on one side and the tennis courts on the other. Go 'til you hit water. Well, go to the parking lot before you get to the water. The very nice new building you will find there is where you sign up for tennis lessons. Tennis lessons for would-be players, 15 years of age or older will be on Monday evenings. Or you can schedule semi-private, or private lessons, if you prefer. Costs for all the lessons are reasonable. But if tennis is not your idea of an ideal way to exercise, the Recreation Center also has walking, Yoga, Zumba, line dance and bridge. Although I'm not sure bridge is considered much body exercise -- brain maybe. Last Friday's party for our librarian, Linda, was well attended and we wish her well in her new position at the Main Library. She has not left us altogether, however, as her first book talk is scheduled for next Wednesday, October 7, at 10 a.m. at the Beach Library.
