Sierra Yard Tour SlatedThe Suncoast Sierra Club will be coordinating a Florida Friendly Garden Tour in the north/northeast area of St. Petersburg on October 11th from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Sierra Club yard tours feature six gardens that require less/no water, fertilizer and pesticides which result in protecting our water quality and supply. The purpose of the tour is to display how beautiful yards can be without using turf grass. The tour is free and the public is invited. Participants will meet at the parking lot just north of the North Shore Park tennis courts on North Shore Drive NE at the intersection of 12th Ave., NE. A local specialist in Florida Native plant garden design will be the tour guide and there will be informational handouts on how to start getting rid of turfgrass without the use of herbicides.
