Friends of the Largo Library Week Proclaimed October 19-25By Bill LopezLARGO -- The Largo City Commission took steps to thank the Friends of the Largo Library for all they do to make a positive difference in the library and the community during the commission meeting Tuesday. The Largo Library is celebrating National Friends of Libraries this week by honoring the work and dedication of the Friends of Largo Library. Since 1979, the Friends have raised $558,329 for the Library through book sales and other fundraisers. The group donated $185,000 of the sum to the new library capital campaigns. Their support enables the Library to enchace programs and services.
